Dr. Heller will talk about a biogeochemical cycle, driven by ocean bacteria, that sustains life on Earth by keeping the atmosphere in balance. The most important piece of this cycle is nitrogen fixation - the same process that makes soil rich. You'll learn how tiny molecules in tiny creatures (DNA in bacteria) influence and respond to planet-size processes like atmospheric balance and climate change.
