Check out this talk about the valuable work that fungi do for garden plants. Justin McDavid and other members of BAAM will also help us with installation of a King Stropharia mushroom bed, and discuss companion planting possibilities using edible-mushroom-producing fungi.
Bay Area Applied Mycology (BAAM) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization made up of amateur, professional, and academic mycologists, all excited about the potential of fungi to provide nourishment, solve environmental problems, provide industrial/commercial benefits, and help strengthen communities.
Justin McDavid is the current President of Bay Area Applied Mycology, and has community-gardened in the Bay Area for close to 10 years. He’s an avid forager and mushroom cultivator, and loves building relationships and finding connections between people and the natural world.
