Cover Crops to Build Healthy Soil in Fremont

Cover crops are plants sown for the purpose of repairing and building healthy soil. The roots of these plants add nutrition to your soil, attract beneficial bacteria and fungi, and break up compacted soil. The Master Gardeners will provide hands-on information about choosing and planting cover crops and show demonstrations. Choose between two dates at the Fremont and Hayward demonstration gardens!

There is a $5 parking fee at Quarry Lakes Recreation Area, but free parking is available at Isherwood Staging Area (about a quarter-mile level walk to the garden).
