The benefits of compost are many: recycling plant debris and food scraps from your yard or kitchen can help you save water and build healthy soil. Come and learn how easy it is to transform your yard waste and food scraps into “gardeners’ gold.” Join Bay-Friendly Landscape Professional & Garden Educator Lori Caldwell to learn about both composting methods – basic and worm. We will also explore DIY and reuse options. This hands-on workshop will teach you to make, harvest and use this valuable soil amendment in your garden. Participants will have a chance to win their own basic compost bin or worm bin. This event will take place in the back yard of EcoHouse, the Ecology Center’s demonstration home and garden. Enter at the gate on Peralta Street.
